Hey guys.So I've been debating for a while to switch from using OBS for noise supression + noise gate to adding Minihost Modular + reaper plugins to affect my voice everywhere. Discord wasn't really a problem because it has native suppression built in but there are quite a few times in Fortnite where my keyboard clicks and mouse clicks would annoy the person playing with me.I've looked into Voicemeeter Banana + Minihost Modular + Reaper Plugins and i kind of like the way i have everything setup. I have a really basic setup. I dont use VM to do anything crazy, literally just to filter my audio. So heres a walkthrough of my setup. Now when I click A1 On my Voicemeeter AUX I can hear myself with the VST stuff that I'm doing. But in Discord and when i do test recordings in OBS it doesnt seem like the VST stuff is forwarding?I'm pretty lost at this point and would love if someone could help me. I’m not here with an answer, more emotional support because I had nothing but issues trying to get virtual cable and voicemeter and plugins to work nicely with each other across all the platforms I used.
It was always a bloody headache because I’d spend hours and hours tweaking it and get it perfect. The postman skarmeta summary. I’d be over the moon happy. And then an update would come out or there’d be a magical conflict issue for no reason, or an invisible evil monkey would shit inside those virtual cables so that the next time I went to stream my mic would sound like absolute ass - if it worked at all.I gave up on all that noise and went with hardware equipment last week. I know, it’s expensive, but this is entirely a case of getting what you pay for.I hope you figure it out dude. But my biggest piece of advice is to then make restore points or image your drive or make multiple backups of everything because it’s just a matter of time before you’ll be back to square one. Hang in there.
